Please be informed that, IRCTC is implementing OTP based refund authentication for all cancellations.

We request you to update passenger's correct contact number while booking rail tickets for smooth refunds in case of cancellation.

Cancellation Refund Process
Below is the step wise guide of OTP refund process:
• Train Booking List > Search PNR > Select 'Cancel Ticket' Action
• Select Passenger to cancel > Click Cancel Ticket Button
• Click Get Refund Button
• OTP will be sent on passenger's Mobile Number
• Enter OTP > Authentication successful
Message will be displayed on your screen "OTP has been verified your refund against the PNR: xxxxxxxxxx has been processed successfully" .

Waitlist Refund Process
Below is the step wise guide of Waitlist Refund Process:
• Train Booking List > Search PNR > Select 'Cancel Ticket' Action
• Click Get WL Refund Button
• Enter PNR > Enter Cancellation ID > Enter OTP (OTP received on passenger's Mobile Number)
• Click Continue Button

Important:
1. Without successful OTP verification system will not process any refund.
2. Time-line to authenticate the refund is 3 days from the cancellation. (User will have to verify the refund within 3 days of cancellation.)
